Where we're at
Currently, Pretty Strong Smart (PSS) funds a $500 scholarship at Meade High School to graduating young women* who will be working or studying in a STEM field. The scholarship is primarily funded by PSS founder, Emily Kund. Meade was chosen because it is the high school on Fort Meade Army Base that serves a portion of western Anne Arundel County.
Where we want to go
We want to be able to provide $500 scholarships at minimum (because books are expensive!).
In 2023, we would like to increase the scholarship to $1000 and open eligibility to all of Anne Arundel County.
In 2024, we plan invite graduating girls in Dorchester County (where the founder is from) to apply for a $1000 scholarship in addition to the Anne Arundel County graduating girls.
In 2025, we plan to open it graduating girls in Maryland (in addition to Anne Arundel and Dorchester counties) to provide at $5,000 or more in scholarship monies.
Ultimately, we would like to provide scholarships across the United States and will take a measured approach to get there. Specifically, we will focus on the DMV (Delaware, DC, Maryland, and Virginia) area and then expand further out through to have appropriate coverage of the US.

How we plan to get there
The scholarship is currently funded by the founder, Emily Kund and through generous donations of her network . We are looking for fiscal sponsorship to help solicit more donations and to fund more scholarships. In addition to donations, we also plan to raise funds through sales of merchandise at cons (comic and pop culture conventions).
